ONE THOUSAND — The Amazing Spider-Man #999, #1000 & #1001 Connecting Cover
Mike Mayhew Studio · Exclusive Variant · In Stock
One
Thousand.
The thousandth issue of Amazing Spider-Man. One painting, spanning the issue before it, the milestone itself, and the aftermath. Three books. One image.
A connecting cover is a promise that the pieces belong together. Most never get finished.
Marvel built the road to #1000 with the biggest creative roster in the character's history — Joe Kelly, Noah Hawley's comics debut, Frank Miller and Peach Momoko together for the first time. Mike Mayhew's answer was a single painting large enough to carry the issue before, the milestone, and the issue after.
Each panel was printed in two finishes. Trade Dress wears the full Marvel logo and branding — 3,000 copies, the way the book lives on the shelf. Virgin carries nothing over the art — 1,000 copies, the finish that frames.
The studio sells the finished image, not the fragments. Sets ship complete.

Mike Mayhew has painted covers for Marvel and DC for twenty-five years — Amazing Spider-Man, Absolute Batman, and the covers collectors have chased since the nineties. Mike Mayhew Studio exists so those covers reach the people who want them without a distributor in between.
Every copy here passes through the studio in Southern California: inspected, bagged, boarded, and shipped in a rigid mailer. Signed editions, Thwip and Glow signature sets, and CGC 9.8 Signature Series slabs are offered to the Register before anyone else.
